Robert Costa

Robert Costa grew up with the steady rhythms of the sea and the city.

His parents left the Azorean Islands of Portugal to settle in Newark, New Jersey, carrying with them a deep Catholic faith and a quiet resilience. Robert spent much of his childhood in the small fishing town of Belford, where early mornings on the docks taught him the value of hard work and the calm strength that comes from family.

In the Costa home, love was rarely spelled out in words; it was shown in action. Sacrifice, discipline, and steadfast care were the daily language of affection. Robert watched his parents live those truths, and they became the bedrock of his own life. Over the years, he has worked in trucking, construction, and other hands-on trades, but no matter the job, those values of perseverance and compassion have remained constant.

Mission and Vision

Robert writes stories drawn from what he’s witnessed and endured, moments where grit and mercy meet. Dark Angel grew out of a simple belief: without compassion, strength can turn into cruelty. For Robert, true courage is measured not by force but by the heart willing to sacrifice, to protect, to act with mercy even when it costs something.

He hopes his books do more than entertain. He wants them to remind readers, especially those in their own seasons of struggle, that faith and compassion can transform the way power is used, and that real heroism begins in the silent, simmering decision to care.
